Some of my first lessons in confidence started on a boat before sunrise.
Long before titles, plans or platforms, the water was teaching me who I was.
Before I had words for confidence, I had a boat ramp at Pumicestone Passage and a grandmother who just handed me a rod.
She never sat me down and gave me a lesson. She just showed me what was possible. Turned out that was everything.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about where we actually learn to trust ourselves. For me it started on the water, before sunrise, watching my feet for stonefish.
